Returning Player Guide — Welcome Back, Tenno

Stepping back into the Origin System after a long break? Catch up on what you may have missed — from the evolving Star Chart to Cross Platform Save, Liches, Archons, Duviri and everything in between. Based on the official Warframe Returning Player Guide.

  • Tenno, your Orbiter remembers you. A lot has changed while you were away — new rooms, new systems, new wars. Don't be daunted. Work through this guide one section at a time and you'll be back in fighting shape before you know it.
1. Get Caught Up — Star Chart, Orbiter & Story

  • Star Chart Primer — The Origin System may look different than you remember. Complete Mission nodes and Junctions to progress through the Star Chart and unlock new Quests and activities. If you haven't unlocked the entire system yet, this is the best way to refamiliarize yourself and collect loot along the way.
  • The Orbiter — Your home base gained new rooms and consoles since you left, including the Helminth Infirmary and your Void Relic collection. Take a moment to explore what's been added.
  • The Story — Pick up where you left off in the main quest, or relive past accomplishments. Everything from Vor's Prize to the Hex is waiting for you — check our Warframe Quest Guide — The Story Arcs for the full updated order, and our Journey to the New War for preparation heading into Arc 3.
2. Collect & Customize — Arsenal, Nightwave & Companions

  • Warframes & Weapons — There are thousands of items to collect. Earn Resources in Missions to craft new frames and weapons from blueprints in the Market, and claim prime gear from the Void as it resurges. See Mastery Ranks for how collecting powers you up.
  • Nightwave — Daily and weekly challenges you can complete for free rewards. It's one of the best sources of Orokin Reactors, Orokin Catalysts, Arcanes, Mods and exclusive cosmetics — make the Nightwave tab part of your routine.
  • Companions & Heavy Firepower — Kubrows, Kavats and mechanical Companions got major love: they no longer fall permanently in battle and need no stasis or upkeep. For muscle, wrap yourself in a Necramech or command a custom Railjack with your crew.
  • The Origin System's Bleeding Edge — Whispers in the Walls, 1999 and the Hex brought a whole new chapter: Cavia missions in the Sanctum Anatomica, the Höllvania zone, KIM messaging, and Infested Coda adversaries carrying a new family of rank-capable weapons. Orient yourself with our 1999 & The Hex and New War guides.
3. Growing Stronger — Mods, Mastery, Amps, Focus & Helminth

  • Mods — The heart of your power. Dust off your collection and revisit Modding 2.0 and Damage Types to bring your builds into the current meta.
  • Mastery Rank — Holding new gear levels your Mastery and unlocks access to new equipment and systems. Our Mastery Ranks page shows how to climb fast.
  • Amps & Focus — Your Operator's star-bending powers matter more than ever. Refresh your toolkit with our Operator Amps and Focus Schools guides, then take on the Eidolons for their rewards.
  • Helminth — The Infirmary aboard your Orbiter lets you replace one Warframe ability with another, borrowed from a fellow frame or from the Helminth itself. A must-know system for anyone ready to fine-tune their kit.
4. Cross Platform Multiplayer

  • Cross Platform Play — Join friends no matter what console they're on. Squad up, run Sorties, Archon Hunts and Eidolons together.
  • Cross Platform Save — Since Whispers in the Walls, you can connect accounts across platforms for one seamless Warframe experience. Link your accounts and pick up exactly where you left off, anywhere.
  • Clans & Dojos — Join or rejoin a Clan to access a fully customizable Dojo with Research Labs, a Dry Dock for your Railjack, and a place to call home. See Dojo Decorating and Clan Management.
5. Explore, Hunt & Craft — Open Worlds & Syndicates

  • Open Worlds — Huge landscapes dense with secrets, from the ghostly Plains of Eidolon to the frozen Orb Vallis and the infested Cambion Drift — each packed with wildlife, gems and fish to hunt and collect.
  • Syndicates — Earn Standing with local groups like the Ostron and Solaris through open world Bounties, or pledge to one of the six major Syndicates for gear and rewards. Just remember each has a rival that will take notice. Full rundown in our Syndicates guide.
6. Take on Harder Challenges — Adversaries & Archons

  • Kuva Liches & Sisters of Parvos — These personal Adversaries hunt you across the system and grow stronger the longer you fight them. Discover their Requiem weakness and face them in a final showdown for tremendous rewards.
  • Break Narmer & Archon Hunts — The New War left lingering Archons. Each week's Archon Hunt drops Archon Shards that permanently boost a Warframe's stats, while Break Narmer missions give Kahl a chance to earn extra. See Archon Hunts for the details.
7. Roguelike Adventures — The Duviri Paradox

  • Endlessly looping Duviri brings a full roguelike twist to Warframe. New or returning, you'll test-drive random Warframes, collect Decrees mid-runs, and scour the floating islands for powerful evolving Incarnon Weapons. Our Duviri Paradox and the Open World covers getting started.

Welcome home, Tenno. Rebuild your Arsenal, reconnect with the story, and may the Void guide your path!
