Warframe.Market — How to Set Up & Use It

Warframe.Market is the player-run marketplace that the whole community prices with. List your loot, find any item at a fair Platinum price, and run Riven or Lich auctions — all without screaming into Trade chat. This walkthrough covers registration, in-game name verification, placing orders, and completing safe trades.



  • Quick note: Warframe.Market is a third-party fan site (built by community members, not Digital Extremes). It never touches your account password — it only lists prices and helps you find each other. The trade itself always happens inside the game, at a Clan Dojo Trading Post or Maroo's Bazaar. It is safe when used the way this guide describes.
1. What Is Warframe.Market?

  • Real player orders, live prices — Every listing on the site is an order placed by an actual player with an in-game price on an item. There is no imaginary "market price"; the market is whatever buyers and sellers are offering right now.
  • Two sides of every item — Each item page shows Sellers (lowest ask, sorted cheapest first) and Buyers (highest bid). Compare both to see what you should pay or ask.
  • Auctions — The site also host auctions for Riven Mods, Kuva Liches, Sisters of Parvos, and Technocyte Coda, where sellers set a start price and you can bid or just hit the buyout.
  • Platforms — Order groups are separate per platform (PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch). Pick the one you actually play on; with Cross Platform Save your account simply belongs to the bucket you use.
  • No account needed to buy — You only need to register and verify to place orders. Buying is one click and a whisper.
2. Before You Begin (In-Game Prerequisites)

  • Mastery Rank 2 — Trading itself unlocks at MR 2 in-game. Nothing on the site changes that.
  • Two-Factor Authentication — 2FA must be enabled on your official warframe.com account to trade at all. Turn it on under your account settings on the Warframe site.
  • A match place — Trades happen in a Clan Dojo's Trading Post (best; join a clan and craft the Dojo key) or at Maroo's Bazaar on Mars (no clan needed — land, open your Gear wheel with "Q", and "Set Up Shop").

3. Creating & Setting Up Your Account

  • Register — Go to warframe.market and click Sign In in the top-right corner, then Register. Enter your email and a password, and confirm your email address from the message they send you.
  • Pick your platform — In your account settings, select the platform you play on (PC / PlayStation / Xbox / Switch). This is what Shop tab, buy list, and auctions are scoped to.
  • Verify your in-game name (the important step) — The whole service works because traders whisper a real in-game identity. The site gives you a unique verification code; log in to the official Warframe forums and open a Private Message to the "WarMarketMan" bot with that code, then send it. The bot checks its inbox every couple of minutes and flips your name to verified.
  • Match the right forum identity — The name the bot records is the forum account that DMs it. If you play on PlayStation (or another console), make sure the forum profile used to send the message shows that console's account name, or the wrong nickname gets pinned to your market profile.
  • Stuck? Manual verification — Console accounts are sometimes unable to send forum private messages. Join the official Warframe.Market Discord server (linked at the bottom of the homepage) and ask for manual verification in the designated channel.
  • Optional: notifications — When you're set up, use the in-site inbox (the bell icon) for messages from the site, and check the Discord for price-alert and help channels. Third-party companion tools and bots can push whispers to your phone too, but none are required.
4. Your Online Status

  • Online in game — Shows you as actively trading and pins your orders to the top of searches. Set this only when you're actually in-game and can reply within a few minutes.
  • Online (site) — You're here for price checks but not actively trading; buyers can still contact you.
  • Invisible — Hides you and all your orders from searches. Best when you're logging off, so nobody whispers a ghost — nothing loses you sales and reputation faster than leaving "Online in game" while you're asleep.
  • Be honest with your status — The community sorts by price first, but highlights traders who are genuinely online. Respond to whispers quickly or mark yourself Invisible.
5. Buying Items — Step by Step

  • 1. Search — Use the search bar (it autocompletes). Open the item's page. Example: a Prime Set like "Volt Prime Set".
  • 2. Read the Sellers list — The Buy tab lists sellers sorted by ascending price. Watch for the online-in-game traders at the top and the item's median/average price shown on the page.
  • 3. Click "Buy" — Next to the listing you want, click Buy. The site copies a whisper to your clipboard: /w TraderName Hi! I want to buy: [Item] for [XX] platinum. (warframe.market)
  • 4. Message the seller in-game — Open an empty chat box in Warframe and send that message (on most clients you'll need to type it out — the copied text is your template). Wait for them to invite you or reply.
  • 5. No answer in ~5 minutes? — Whisper again or move to the next-cheapest seller. The pinned online traders usually answer fastest.
  • 6. Trade — Join their Dojo or invite them to yours / meet at Maroo's Bazaar. Open the trade, confirm the item, mod rank (if a mod) and Platinum count are exactly right in the trade window, and accept.
6. Selling Items — Making Platinum

  • 1. Register & verify — You need a verified account and your status set to Online in game (see sections 3–4).
  • 2. Price it — Open your item's page and check the Sellers and Buyers tabs, plus the median and average. Undercut the lowest listed sale by a small margin (or meet the top buy order) for a fast flip.
  • 3. Place the order — Hit Place Order, choose Sell, autocomplete the item name, set your price per unit and quantity. For mods you can set the rank — a maxed mod is priced differently from an unranked one.
  • 4. Manage your orders — Your active orders live under Profile > My Orders. There you can edit the price, adjust quantity/rank, or make an order Invisible.
  • 5. Complete the trade — When a buyer whispers the copied snippet, reply, invite them (or accept their invite), and use the Dojo Trading Post. Tax is paid in Credits at the moment of trade, so bring enough.
  • 6. Buy orders too — You can also place a Buy order to advertise the price you're willing to pay, and wait for sellers to come to you. It's the reason you'll see a group of buyers stacking a few Platinum lower than the sellers.
7. Reading Prices Like a Trader

  • Buyers vs Sellers — Never judge an item by one number. The cheapest sell order is what you'd pay; the highest buy order is what you'd realistically get. The spread between them is the market gap.
  • Median & Average — The item page plots recent order prices over time, with a median line that tells you the "typical" going rate — great for spotting one-off undercuts that are just noise.
  • Price History — Watch for trends: newly unvaulted/unvaulted Prime parts swing hard, and 1999-era and Coda gear settles after launch hype. The graph shows that history.
  • Sets vs parts — A full Prime Set sold together is usually a touch more expensive than buying its parts separately. Check both before you commit.
  • Mod rank matters — Always compare the same rank. A rank-5 (maxed) mod is worth far more than the unranked copy.
8. Auctions — Rivens, Liches, Sisters & Coda

  • What's auctioned — The Auctions section covers Riven Mods, Kuva Liches, Sisters of Parvos, and Infested Coda — items whose value is all about their rolls, so a fixed price doesn't work.
  • Selling — As a verified user, you can create an auction with a starting bid and optionally a buyout price. The listing shows the stats/rolls so buyers can judge them without a whisper.
  • Buying — Browse by item, weapon, stats or price range. Bid, or skip the wait and hit the buyout if one is set. The auction then converts into a normal in-game trade you complete with the seller.
  • Liches/Sisters/Coda — For Adversaries, the seller is offering the enemy itself (and they'll usually list the weapon, Element, and Ephemera). You still do the real deal — or a friendly trading session in the Dojo.
9. Etiquette, Safety & the Fine Print

  • Trade only in-game — Warframe.Market is just an introductions service. Real-money trades, "send Platinum first", or anything outside the Warframe trade window violates the game's rules and risks a ban. Politely end any such conversation.
  • Check the window — Verify the exact item, rank, quantity and Platinum amount before accepting. Scams are rare but exist; cross-check Riven stats on a Riven listing against what's in the trade.
  • Daily trade limit — You can complete as many trades per day equal to your Mastery Rank, and trade tax scales with item rarity. Platinum itself costs 500 Credits per unit traded. Budget your Credits.
  • Don't ghost — If you marked yourself Online, answer whispers promptly; mark yourself Invisible when you go AFK. Traders remember fast responders and repeat business with them.
  • Reputation — Keep orders realistic, don't spam unde­r­cut wars that collapse a price floor, and treat every deal as the start of a repeat customer. The site's community policing does the rest.
